The Multi-level Supervised Input Module, part number 30-0121, can occasionally miss a change-of-state. Two separate conditions can cause this. Noise on the MR line from the backplane can reset the microprocessor. If this happens during a Change-of-state request, the data will be lost. Also, if a direct poll command is given to one channel while the other channel has a Change-of-state in process, the data will be overwritten in the interface and the COS data will be lost. All versions of the board exhibit these problems.
COMPUTROL has released a Field Change to this board to correct these conditions. Revision C of the hardware disconnects the MR line from the backplane and connects it to ground. The firmware revision corrects the problem of a direct poll command overwriting data.*

It is recommended that all boards be upgraded as soon as practical. Because the change involves a hardware modification, it is recommended that the modules be returned to SYSTEM SUPPORT SERVICES for retrofit. The cost to update the firmware and fully test, align, and repair the unit as necessary is $ 359.00 per board.
